SAM-NY Assembly Candidate Evelyn Wood Featured in Glens Falls Post Star

SAM-NY Assembly candidate Evelyn Wood continues to gain momentum in her race in the 114th District, in the Adirondack region of NY. Wood was recently featured in a story by columnist Kathleen Moore.

“I think it’s time for a third party, with all the gridlock,” Wood said. “It’s very easy for them to get stuck on the platform and not move off. A third voice forces them to get unstuck a little bit.”

Wood also continued to highlight her biggest campaign priority: Making sure that everyone in the district has a reliable and affordable broadband connection. The issue, promised but never addressed by both parties in Albany, has more importance during COVID, with many parents and students unable to connect to their virtual learning classrooms.

“Simply because we’re doing everything remotely,” she said. “The kids are doing school by Zoom. Where I am, the Verizon internet does not hold up for children trying to use Zoom. And parents as well — the residential systems were never designed to hold that volume.”
